Residence with a Colonial Twist

This 280㎡ residence, designed by Andy Leung, showcases a unique blend of Far Eastern colonial aesthetics. The interior space is characterized by a striking contrast of black and white, creating a visually captivating atmosphere. The use of materials such as terrazzo cut into small bricks, woven texture paper, and shutters with Far Eastern architectural style adds a strong oriental flavor and colonial charm to the space.

While the design pays homage to the past, it also embraces modern minimalism. The living room features minimalist islands and a hanging fireplace, reflecting the philosophy of "Zen" while exuding sophistication and elegance.

Attention to detail is evident throughout the residence. Concealed doors and socket panels seamlessly integrate functionality without compromising the overall ambiance of the space.

The Lakeville Regency Residence is a testament to the designer's ability to create a modern interpretation of a colonial-style space in the bustling economic center of Shanghai. The use of black and white contrasts, along with carefully selected materials, successfully captures the essence of oriental flavor and colonialism.

Completed in December 2020, this project showcases the designer's dedication to research and innovation. The challenge of creating a colonial-style design in a city known for its modernity was overcome by meticulous planning and the use of authentic materials.
